Note:
If the pressure exceeds the "safe limit" for this package type, or is insufficient to lift the
liquid to the sensors (at least 0.5 bar greater than package pressure is required), the
instrument displays a
Too high
or
Too low
error message, and the measurement
sequence stops. Once pressure is again within limits, (or if the
ESC
key is pressed), the
sequence continues.
Headspace calculation
The Beverage Package Analyzer releases a given volume of forcing gas at known
pressure into the package headspace, measures the pressure drop (15 seconds) and
computes the headspace volume. Result is sent to the PC software and is displayed in
the data table. It is not seen on the instrument display.
Note:
The pressure drop speed also tells if the manifold hydrophobic filter is clogged. In that
case, a
Warning/Change the Filter
message appears and the analysis stops. Pressing
ENTER
bypasses it, however the headspace volume measurement might be inaccurate
if filter is blocked. Clean filter before next measurement.
If the pressure change is within limits, the next screen shows pressure P4, which is used
for calculations, and manifold temperature (actual volume is shown on the PC only).
