Scorpion 4, 6 and 8

Preparing boom mower for initial start-up

After having installed the boom mower on the vehicle and before initial start-up, carry
out daily inspections

, see

Daily/routine inspection (e)

 and

Fejl! Henvisningskilde ikke

fundet.

Go through all the check points to ensure that the boom mower is ready for use

Prepare the boom mower for transport in accordance with

Fejl! Henvisningskilde ikke

fundet.

Drive the mower to an area with a firm base, plenty of space and no people within a 20-
meter radius

Start the boom mower in no-load state (idling) and go through all the movements

Carefully check the stability of the vehicle and the mower

Perform the following procedure

1.  Slowly move the arm all the way BACKWARDS. Keep the arm at a maximum of

½ meter above the ground

2.  Slowly rotate the entire arm to 90 degrees relative to the direction of driving

a.  Is the vehicle stable on all 4 wheels?
b.  Are the 4-point mounting system and lift arms stable?

3.  If the vehicle and the boom mower are stable, raise the arm 1 meter up and down

a few times.

a.  Is the vehicle completely stable on all 4 wheels?
b.  Are the 4-point mounting system and lift arms stable?

4.  If the vehicle and the boom mower are stable, the first tool can be mounted, see

sections Adjusting

the boom mower to working position and operation (r)

 as well

as

Fejl! Henvisningskilde ikke fundet.

5.  After that, repeat points 2-3.

If the driver assesses that the boom mower and the vehicle are not stable, all connected
joints between the vehicle and the boom mower must be examined, see Instructions

 for

installation, connecting and disconnecting (j)

The

Stability (o)

section is carefully reviewed to increase the stability of both vehicle and

boom mower.

6.  The rotational movement is now continued, and the arm is CAREFULLY rotated

forwards up to 10 cm from the rear fender/tire. At this point, the stop in the pivot
joint should be reached.

If the arm is moved further forward, the fender/tire can be hit, and

damage caused to both the arm and the fender or tire.

If there is any risk of the arm hitting the vehicle, the BOTTOM STOP MUST BE
CHANGED. See next section: “Change Bottom Stop for Forward Angle"

7.

When the stability is assessed to be ok and the vehicle does not collide with the
arm, the function of the break-back must be tested - follow the procedures in the
section

Fejl! Henvisningskilde ikke fundet.
