Scorpion 4, 6 and 8
The individual components
We look at the various components and what needs to be considered in terms of
maintenance and service.
Gearbox
There are various gearboxes on the Scorpion 4 -6 and 8 models. See the spare parts
book to determine your type.
The various gearboxes are serviced in the same way. Gear oil must be changed after
the first 50 operating hours - after that, every 500 hours or once a year.

Specifications to see how much oil the gearbox contains. Or see the label on the
machine.
The oil used is a high-quality SAE 90 EP, API GL-5 mineral gear oil.
PTO shaft
The guarding must always be intact, undamaged, and mounted with 2 chains to prevent
rotation.
Lubricate the PTO shaft daily. See the small instruction manual enclosed with the PTO

If you are using a PTO from another manufacturer, follow their instructions carefully.
Remember to lubricate all parts when mounting the first time. Especially
the telescopic tubes, after the shortened piece.
The Hydraulic system
Always avoid skin contact and inhalation of
chemicals, such as hydraulic oil, gearbox oil and
grease, etc. Always use the correct safety
equipment. Always be familiar with how the
chemicals are handled. Be familiar with the safety
data sheets of the products used. All Shell
