Rotary Mulcher RM 232
Blades
When carrying out any kind of maintenance work on and around the
rotors, be aware of the free-swinging blades. It is recommended to wear
protective clothing, including helmet, safety work gloves and safety goggles.
It is possible to sharpen the blades by grinding the cutting edges, ensuring that the blades
have the same weight and length afterwards. Be careful not to let the blades become too
hot during grinding as this will affect their hardness. The blades rotate 110 degrees around
hardened steel bushings that can be replaced. When replacing the blades, the bushings
must always be replaced, in addition, it is important that all blades are replaced in sets in
order to maintain the balance of the rotor
.
If the blades show signs of excessive wear, damage or cracks, they must be replaced
immediately. Never attempt to weld the blades as they become brittle and extremely
dangerous. Do not run any risk with the blades - replace them if there is any doubt about
their condition.
When the fluids evaporate from the branches, the end result will be more "frayed". When
working outside the growing season, there will be increased wear on the blades.
The best
cutting result is achieved in ther period from April to October.
