Trails-

Trails, as the name implies, will create a trail or pathway through the sky depicting all

facets of flight for the aircraft. This feature is very useful for F3A pattern pilots and F3

heli pilots as well as those modelers wanting to see how precise their maneuvers truly

are.

Think you’re a precision pilot? You might be able to fool the judges at a contest, but

you can’t change reality in RealFlight. With RealFlight’s Trails feature, the pathway

initiates from the wingtips of an airplane model and from the main rotorblades of a

helicopter and remains in the sky for the duration of the flight, allowing modelers to

thoroughly review their trail from start to finish. If you stray even a fraction from

straight-and-level, or your loops aren’t exactly round, the evidence is onscreen.

You will also find this feature very useful when used in combination with the Sky Grid

feature mentioned above.

To enable Trails, click the

View

menu title, then the

Effects

sub-menu. Then, click

the Trails menu item.

Rotary Trails-

Rotary Trails function similarly to the Trails feature, except it highlights the path of the

prop of the airplane or main rotor of the heli; additionally, the rotary trails do not

remain onscreen throughout the flight.

To enable Rotary Trails, click the

View

menu title, followed by the

Effects

sub-menu.

Then, click the

Rotary Trails

menu item.

Wind Field Indicators-

Flying at sites designed for practicing thermal and slope soaring flight, Wind Field

Indicators will display where the updrafts are located and their direction. To practice

real-world scenarios, you may wish to turn off these indicators.

To enable Rotary Trails, click the

View

menu title, followed by the

Effects

sub-menu.

Then, click the

Wind Field Indicators

menu item.

Camera Type

The

Camera Type

menu item determines the Camera Type for the active viewport.

Each viewport is independently adjustable. Select from a

Fixed Position

Nose

or a

Chase

view. If your aircraft is equipped with on-board cameras, they will be listed

here as well.
