Crush and Pinch Hazards
A falling section or part can cause severe
injury or death by crushing. Always keep body
and body parts out from under any parts or
components of the planter. Ensure all
equipment is properly rated for the load before
attempting to unload the planter, move parts, or
assembly the planter. Ensure all equipment
operates with smooth movements before
beginning work.
Secure Machine
It is necessary for the shipping chain or strap
securing the wings to the tongue to remain in
place until the planter has been unloaded from
the trailer. Do not attempt to unfold the planter
when the shipping chain is installed. The
shipping chain or strap should not secure any
part of the planter to the trailer. Failure to keep
shipping chain or strap secured during
unloading can result in the planter becoming
unbalanced. A falling planter can cause severe
injury or death.
Flailing Hazard
Marker hydraulics are active whenever the fold
hydraulics are not in use. It is important to set
the tractor fold/marker hydraulic circuit lever to
“Float” or “Neutral” to prevent unintended
marker operations. Unexpected marker operation
and flailing equipment can serious injures
including death.
Frame Damage Risk
Do not raise/lower the wing gauge wheels at
any time with shipping chain or strap installed
on tongue. While the shipping chain is installed
the planter lift hydraulic system should only be
operated as “Center” or “Center Lift” or planter
frame damage can occur.
