Check Engine Oil Level
1. Remove dipstick from tube by
unscrewing it. Wipe it clean.
2. Install dipstick and allow cap to rest on
the end of tube. Do not tighten the cap.
3. Remove dipstick. Check oil level on
dipstick; oil level should be between
ADD and FULL marks.
•
If oil is low, add oil to bring oil level no
higher than FULL mark on dipstick.
•
If oil level is above FULL mark, drain
to proper level.
4. Install and tighten dipstick.
Install Discharge Chute
CAUTION:
Avoid Injury! Do not operate unit
without discharge chute in operating position.
Remove the thumbscrew (A) retaining the
discharge chute in the transport position.
Place the discharge chute in the operating
position and fasten in place with thumbscrew.
Check Tire Pressure
1. Check tires for damage.
2. Check rear tire pressure with an
accurate gauge. Add air if necessary.
for
tire pressure.
Lubricate Unit
Lubricate all moving parts before operating
the unit.
See Lubrication Points on page 30.
Check Mower Deck Level
The mower deck is assembled and adjusted
at the factory. After unit is completely
assembled, check the mower front-to-rear
and side-to-side deck level.
Fill Fuel Tank
Fill fuel tank. DO NOT OVERFILL!
Check Hydraulic Fluid Level
Check the level of the transmission oil
reservoir.
Check Safety System
Check the operation of the safety interlock
system.

CAUTION:
Avoid injury!
Explosive separation of tire and
rim parts is possible when they
are serviced incorrectly:
•
Do not attempt to mount a
tire without the proper
equipment and experience
to perform the job.
•
Do not inflate the tires
above the recommended
pressure.
•
Do not weld or heat a
wheel and tire assembly.
Heat can cause an
increase in air pressure
resulting in an explosion.
Welding can structurally
weaken or deform the
wheel.
•
Do not stand in front or
over the tire assembly
when inflating. Use a clip-
on chuck and extension
hose long enough to allow
you to stand to one side.
