NOTE:
Refer to Figure 5 and Figure 6 for the
location of the various controls.
Throttle Lever
Changes engine speed.
Fast (1) – Increases engine
speed.
Half Throttle – Place in this
position when starting and
warming unit.
Slow (2) – Decreases engine
speed.
Choke Control Knob
Pull the choke knob out to start
a cold engine. Push the choke
knob in when the engine gets
warm.
Power Take Off (PTO) Switch
Engages (1) and
disengages (2)
mower blades.
Pull PTO switch
out to engage
mower blades.
Push PTO switch
in to stop mower
blades.
Ignition Switch
Operate the ignition switch with the
removable key.
Electric Start
: The
switch has three
positions: STOP (1),
Run (2) and Start
(3).
Recoil Start
: The
switch has two
positions: STOP (1)
and Run (2).
IMPORTANT:
Avoid damage! Starter may be
damaged if operated for more than 20
seconds at a time. Wait two minutes before
trying starter again if engine does not start.
Hour Meter
Measures the
number of hours the
engine has been run.
Forward Speed Control Levers
(988153, 54, 55)
The speed control levers set
forward ground speed.
Push both levers forward to
increase speed.
Pull both levers all the way
back for neutral.
Move one lever at a time to
control tracking.
Parking Brake
The parking brake holds the
tractor in position when not in
use.
To engage parking brake, pull
the brake handle back (1).
To release parking brake, push
the brake handle forward (2).
