9. When the sandwich is done, use wooden or plastic kitchen utensils to remove it to prevent
damage to the non-stick coating.
10. If you do not plan to toast any other sandwiches, pull the mains plug out of the socket and
let the device cool off completely before you remove and clean the plates and store them
together with the device.
Grill plates
With these plates, you can use the device like an electric tabletop grill. The plates are suitable
for preparing all kinds of meat,
fi
sh and vegetables.
1. Insert the grill plates in the device as described in the chapter “Inserting and changing the
plates”.
2. Connect the device to a properly installed, easily accessible socket. The red power LED will
illuminate as soon as the device has been connected to a socket.
3. The device must pre-heat now. Always keep the device closed during this time. The pre-
heating process takes about 3–5 minutes and has ended when the green power LED
illuminates.
4. When the green power LED illuminates and the pre-heating process has ended, release the
latch and open the device.
5. Now place your food (e. g. patties for hamburgers, chicken
fi
llets or vegetables) on the
bottom grill plate.
• You can prepare your meals with the grill open or closed. However, please keep
in mind that the cooking time is longer when the grill is open as more heat is lost
when preparing meals this way.
• When you close the grill, make sure that the latch has correctly locked into place
to keep the grill closed while grilling.
• Only use wooden or plastic kitchen utensils to
fl
ip or remove food to prevent
damage to the non-stick coating.
6. The green power LED may alternately turn off and back on while grilling. If the green power
LED illuminates, this indicates that the device is reheating to maintain a constant temperature.
7. If you do not plan to prepare any other foods, pull the mains plug out of the socket and
let the device cool off completely before you remove and clean the plates and store them
together with the device.
