Handling the device properly

Check the device for damages prior to each use. The device may not be used if it, the mains
cord or plug exhibit visible damages. Do not use the device if it had a malfunction or has
fallen down.

If the device, mains cord or mains plug are defective, do not attempt to repair the device
yourself. In the event of damage, consult a quali
fi
ed professional in your area or the customer
service department to avoid any risks.

In the event of damages / malfunctions, immediately deactivate the device.
❐
Never
use the device with just one plate.
Two
plates must always be installed. If only one
plate is installed, the thermostat could malfunction as a result. The device could overheat and
short circuit resulting in damage to the device.
❐
Only use heat-resistant utensils for placing foods on or removing them from the device.
Keep metallic objects or other objects with sharp edges away from the device. They may
damage the non-stick coat of the plates. We recommend you use kitchen utensils made of
wood or plastic.
❐
Only use the accessories included or recommended by the manufacturer.
❐
Do not insert foods packed in aluminium foil, cling wrap, plastic bags or similar in the device.
❐
Do not place
fl
ammable materials (e. g. cardboard, plastic, paper or candles) on or in the
device.
❐
Do not leave the device unattended when in operation.
❐
Do not move the device while it is in use.
❐
Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong percussions.
❐
Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe changes in temperature, direct
sunlight or moisture.
❐
Remove the power plug from the socket
– if you are not using the device,
– if a fault occurs during operation,
– before removing the plates and / or changing them,
– before you clean and / or store the device.
❐
If you wish to remove the mains plug from the socket, never pull on the mains cable, but
always on the plug!
❐
Never submerge the device in water or other liquids! Make sure that the device, the mains
cord or the mains plug can not fall in water or are at risk of getting wet. If the device falls in
water, immediately disconnect the power supply.
❐
Never spray cold water on the plates during or directly after using the device. This could
damage the non-stick coat!
❐
Always allow the device to cool off completely before you clean and / or store it.
❐
Store the device in a clean, dry area that is out of the sun and not accessible to children and
animals.
