of the hydrostatic pressure of fuel oil column p

as vacuum. Therefore, the value of the
hydrostatic pressure of the fuel oil column is multiplied by (-1).
If the criterion according to no. 13 is not fulfilled, further leak testing on the oil line including
the consumption point with the pump must be carried out, and the FUNCTION CHECK must
be repeated. Otherwise, a correction of the safety height or a replacement of the diaphragm-
controlled anti-siphon device is to be completed.
MAINTENANCE
Upon proper ASSEMBLY and OPERATION, the product is maintenance-free.
Check HS-V.2 at appropriate intervals,
at least every 5 years
:
•
Proper installation position.
•
Check that the safety height HA matches
the actual height difference ∆X.
•
Carry out a
FUNCTION CHECK
.
Escaping, liquid operating media:
•
are hazardous to the aquatic environment
•
are inflammable category 1, 2 or 3 liquids
•
can ignite and cause burning
•
can cause injury through people falling or slipping
Capture operating media during maintenance work.
REPLACEMENT
When the product has been replaced, observe the steps ASSEMBLY, LEAK TESTING and
START-UP. According to BS 5410-1, membrane-controlled components, such as safety
fittings against siphoning, must be replaced every 10 years at the latest. Replacement is not
necessary if it is confirmed that the product still functions properly.
5. Actuate the pump of the consumption point – generally, the burner pump.
6. Ensure the stable operation.
7. Measured value 1: During the operation of the pump, read and note down the pressure
p1 in the suction line on the pressure gauge.

8. Close the shut-off device of the combined fuel oil filter and deaerator or the oil filter.
9. Disable the pump immediately afterwards.
10. Measured value 2: During the pump stoppage, read and note down the pressure p2 in
the suction line on the pressure gauge.
p2 – Vacuum at the start of the measurement in the suction line upon standstill.
11. Waiting period of 10 minutes.
12. Measured value 3: During the pump stoppage, after the waiting period, read and note
down the pressure p3 in the suction line on the pressure gauge.
p3 – Vacuum at the end of the measurement in the suction line upon standstill
13. If the noted measured values fulfil the criterion regarding po
p1 > p2 > p3 > po, the correct function of the diaphragm-controlled anti-siphon device
with the safety height set at HA and the correct operation of this anti-siphon device for
the supply system has been demonstrated.
