Your Dual-Deck VCR has a number of automatic features that simplify tape
viewing.
Auto Dimmer
- The Dual-Deck VCR front panel fluorescent display will
dim between the hours of 10:00PM and 6:00AM.
Auto Play
- When a tape with no record safety tab is inserted into either
deck, your Dual-Deck VCR begins playing the tape. The
TV View
switches to that deck. If a tape is already playing in the other deck, it
will continue to play. You can view either deck. You can turn Auto
Play on or off in the
Video Menu
; it is preset to
OFF
. See page 26.
Auto Power Off
- While a tape is rewinding, recording a timer event or
performing a
One-Touch Record
,
press the
Power
button and your
Dual-Deck VCR will turn off when the rewind, event or OTR is
complete. The
Power
indicator will blink while this mode is active.
Pressing
Power
or any tape-related button (e.g.:
Play
,
Stop
, etc.)
will cancel Auto Power Off.
Auto Power On
- Power turns on when a tape is inserted into either
deck. The
TV/VCR
indicator switches to
VCR
.
Auto Rewind
- Your Dual-Deck VCR will automatically rewind when the
end of the tape is reached during play or fast forward. You can turn
Auto Rewind on or off in the
Video Menu
; it is preset to
ON
. See
page 26.
Auto Stop
- Your Dual-Deck VCR will stop if a deck is left in
Record
Pause
for more than 5 minutes, and will begin playing again if left in
Play Still
for more than 5 minutes. This prevents excessive tape
wear.
Memory Stop
- If the
Memory Stop
is set, your Dual-Deck VCR will stop
when 0:00 is reached on the
Tape Counter
when rewinding or fast
forwarding. See page 31.
Remote Load/Eject
- You can load and eject tapes using your Remote
Control. Press
Play
to load a tape that is in the ejected position.
Press
Stop/Eject
to eject a tape which is stopped. You can turn
Remote Load/Eject on or off in the
Video Menu
; it is preset to
ON
.

Fail-Safe Timer Record
- Your Dual-Deck VCR contains Enhanced
AmeriChrome Circuitry which prevents errors while programming the
timer. If a potential problem is detected in a timer event the
Dual-Deck VCR warns you with an
On-Screen Display
message that is
easy to understand. If the power fails the Dual-Deck VCR maintains all
of the timer settings so all you have to do is reset the clock when the
power is restored and the timer event(s) will automatically update.
