Common Printer Messages
Description
Slide UV Shield next to the
material
UV Shield is required for material thicker than 0.040". Grasp the UV
shield handle and slide the shield until the right edge of the handle is
aligned with the right edge of the material.
Slide UV Shield to its
parked position
UV shield is not required for material thinner than 0.04". Grasp handle
and slide all the way to the right into the park position.
Starting Clean Heads ...
Clean Heads procedure has begun.
Starting Clear Ink Line ...
Clear ink line sequence has begun.
Starting End of Day Clean...
End of Day Clean sequence has begun.
Starting Fill Ink Line...
Ink line fill sequence has begun.
Starting Inspect Nozzles ...
Inspecting nozzles sequence has begun.
Starting Purge ...
Purging sequence has begun.
Step Blending is ON/OFF
Step Blending status is displayed.
Table vacuum is ON
Displays to indicate the status of the table vacuum.
Table vacuum is OFF
Displays to indicate the status of the table vacuum.
Updating Front Panel
Firmware
Displays at start-up when the front panel board is being updated.
Printer power must remain on or errors will occur. Wait until update is
complete.
Waste Ink Tray must be
installed
Replace waste ink drip tray if it has been removed for cleaning.
Error Messages
The following error messages may appear on the Gerber CAT|UV display indicating a
problem. Follow the recommended action to correct the error. If the error persists, seek technical
assistance from an authorized dealer or Gerber Service.

Ballast Board Not
Found
Ballast Board not found at power-
up.
Cycle power. If problem persists, seek
technical assistance.
BLACK Empty
Black ink pouch is empty.
Replace Black ink pouch.
Cannot fill ink
Ink filling cannot be done due to a
problem in the ink system.
This message occurs for various
reasons including: failure to set ink
vacuum pressure, waste ink tray not
installed, an empty ink line, or a
problem in another ink component.
Check the Message Log and correct
the condition. If problem persists seek
