Field Installation instructions for Slot C module

(For 3-inch and 5.5-inch wide modular PCB)

The following procedures are only to be performed by a qualified (factory trained & 
certified) service technician.

CAUTION

Make sure that all power and data sources are disconnected from the unit prior to 
installing or removing the Slot C port module.

NOTE

Note

Proper electro-static discharge (ESD) measures must be used when handling port modules, 
which (like most electronic sub-assemblies) are sensitive and subject to damage by static 
electricity.

Tools Required

: 

•

1 Phillips head screwdriver

•

1/4”  Nut  Driver

•

ESD Wrist strap or equivalent

ML810x Module Kit:

A Multilink ML810-Series Port Module kit comes in an anti-static bag containing:
•

ML810x module board (1)

•

Matching module faceplate panel (1)

•

5/8” standoffs (4), or (6) for 5.5” PCB4.#4-40 x 3/16” Flat Head screws (6)

•

Labels (as required, if any)

1.

ML810 case cover / Slot C panel removal:
• Wear an ESD wrist strap for grounding before starting these procedures.
• Remove qty. 4 screws securing the ML810 cover to the case (2 top, 2 rear)     and 

discard screws.

• Slide ML810 cover back (approx. 1/2”) to disengage from case.
• Lift off cover to expose the ML810 interior. See also the photo 1d below.
