Water Heater Components
NOTICE:
removal and/or replacement of the
following components of the water heater requires a
certified plumber:

Machine Compartment Covers
There are 4 covers that enclose the machine
compartment. The front shroud cover is vented to
allow air intake to the evaporator and provides slots
to attach the air filter. The control panel is attached
to the front shroud. The rear shroud is vented to
allow air to exhaust from the evaporator. The rear
shroud cover contains the electrical junction box
and covers the top of the fan shroud.
To remove the front shroud cover:
1.
Remove the air filter. (See

2. remove the two T-20 Torx screws from the top
of the trim ring.
3. Lift the front of the trim ring, push it back, then
suspend it from the water heater.
4. remove the nine T-20 Torx screws from the front
shroud cover.
5. Lift the front shroud cover and remove it from
the water heater.
