Introduction
The design of ÄKTA start allows all wet modules, except for the Pressure sensor, to
easily be disassembled and reassembled by a user.
NOTICE
Replacement of modules located on the inside of the instrument
must be performed by a GE Service Engineer only. If an internal
part needs to be replaced, please contact a GE Service Engineer.
Internal modules include:
• Main board
•
Display Sub assembly
•
Power supply
•
Pressure sensor
Precautions
WARNING
To avoid personal injury when performing maintenance on ÄKTA
start, follow the instructions below.
• Electrical shock hazard. Do not open any covers or parts unless
specified in the user documentation. Except for the mainte-
nance and service described in the user documentation, all
other repairs should be done by a GE Service Engineer.
• Disconnect power. Always switch off power to the instrument
before replacing any component on the instrument or cleaning
the instrument, unless stated otherwise in the user documen-
tation.
NOTICE
Replacement of modules located on the wet side of the instrument
must be performed by trained laboratory staff only.
