Troubleshooting
Problem : I press GO, and the rolls will not turn.
Hints : • Be sure a speed has been entered.
• Make sure a motion direction has been
selected.
• Make sure GO or SEL is not flashing.
Problem : Jerking, stuttering, or excessive noise from
the laminator.
Hints : • Check for excessive brake tension
• Confirm that the rolls of laminate are on
correctly.
• Place a service call.
Rolls in the up position
Problem : The control panel is locked up
Hints : • Push the blue reset button.
• Press an E-stop, then unlatch the E-stop and
push RESET.
• Place a service call.
Rollers in the down position
Problem : The control panel is locked up
Hints : • Press RESET.
• Press an E-stop, then unlatch the E-stop and
push RESET.
• Disconnect power and then reconnect power.
• Place a service call immediately and remove
all power to the laminator.
CAUTION
Prolonged contact can form flat spots on the
rollers.
7.4 Glossary
The glossary can help you in understanding
some of the terminology used when referring to the
laminator, applications, or troubleshooting aspects of
the machine.
Blistering
A condition where the paper coating is bubbled
up from the image paper causing a “blister”. It is
created by using excessive heat during the lamination
process. Blistering is most commonly found with
photographic and ink jet media.
Bond strength
Refers to one of three conditions; 1) the anchor
strength of adhesive to laminate substrate, 2) the anchor
strength of the laminating film to the product that has
been laminated, or 3) when two layers of film are
laminated together, the strength of the adhesive to
adhesive bond.
Center mount
A mounting technique where an image is
mounted centrally on a substrate to provide a
decorative border.
