CONVERTING TO 230V
The standard Gates GC20 Cortex (P/N 7480-0009/77700) requires a 115V, 15A
(minimum) power source. The pump likewise requires a 115V, 15A power source.
Both crimper and pump come with 115V cords and plugs installed.
It is possible to operate both the crimper and pump with (two separate) 230V, 15A
power sources. It is also possible to operate the pump with a 230V power source
and the crimper with a 115V power source, or the pump with a 115V power
source and the crimper with a 230V power source. Either or both components can
be operated at either 115V or 230V.
To run the pump at 230V, you must rewire the pump per the instructions on the
side of the pump.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONVERTING TO 230V
1.
Purchase a new, 230V wiring kit (Prod. No.: 7482-0047/Part No.: 70435)
from Gates. This kit contains
[one? or two?]
230V plugs.
2.
Unplug the pump from its power source. Unplug the crimper from its
power source.
3.
Remove the tablet from its dock, and set aside.
4.
Replace the 115V wall plug for the crimper with the kit-supplied 230V plug.
The power supply that operates the crimper can operate unmodified at 230V;
only a plug change is required.
5.
Rewire the pump for 230V. Note: For added convenience, Gates offers a 230V
Pump Conversion Kit (7482-0499; part no. 78760), that includes:
a.
220VAC cord assembly 7482-0496
b.
220VAC wall plug
