Gates GC20 Cortex
PROBLEM
SOLUTION
Bluetooth or WiFi lights are
not illuminated on the crimper
faceplate.
Check that the tablet displays both WiFi and Bluetooth
symbols.
Check that the faceplate is both plugged in and turned
on (the On/Off light is illuminated).
Unplug, wait to a count of 10, and re-plug-in the crimper
faceplate. Allow a few moments for the tablet to connect
with the crimper electronics.
Restart the tablet and the Gates application.
If the tablet connects to WiFi and Bluetooth, but the
corresponding lights are not illuminated on the faceplate,
you may have a defective board. Contact Gates Support.
Bluetooth or WiFi symbols do not
appear on the tablet.
Make sure that the tablet is in a WiFi-enabled area.
Make sure that both WiFi and Bluetooth are enabled in
the Settings function of the tablet.
Make sure that the tablet is within 10 feet of the crimper
(or preferably, docked in the faceplate).
Cannot determine which Bluetooth
address to pair with.
The Gates application will connect only to crimper
electronics — no other Bluetooth electronics should
interfere. Each crimper address is labeled with the model
of the crimper.
If you have more than one Gates GC20 Cortex, try turning
off all but the one you want to pair with.
