MINIMUM ALTITUDE ALERTING
For altitude awareness, a Minimum Altitude Alert based on barometric or temperature compensated altitude
can be set. When active, the altitude setting is displayed to the lower left of the Altimeter and with a bug at
the corresponding altitude along the Altimeter (once the altitude is within the visible range of the tape). The
following visual annunciations alert the pilot when approaching the alert setting:

When a minimum altitude alert is set, the ‘BARO MIN’ or ‘TEMP COMP’ box appears with the altitude in cyan
text. The bug appears on the altitude tape in cyan once in range.

When the aircraft enters within 100 feet of the alert, the bug and text turn white.

Once the aircraft reaches the alert altitude, the bug and text turn amber and a “Minimums Minimums” voice
alert is issued.

Alerting is inhibited while the aircraft is on the ground and until the aircraft reaches 150 feet above the setting
for the alert. The function is reset (set to “Off”) when the power is cycled or another approach is activated.
Setting the Baro/Temp Comp Minimum Altitude Alert and bug:
1) Press the TMR/REF Softkey.
2) Turn the large FMS Knob to highlight the MINS field.
3) Turn the small
FMS
Knob to select ‘BARO’ or ‘TEMP COMP’. ‘Off’ is selected by default. Press the
ENT
Key or
turn the large FMS Knob to highlight the next field.
4) Use the small FMS Knob to enter the desired altitude (from zero to 16,000 feet).
5) If ‘TEMP COMP’ was selected, press the
ENT
Key or turn the large
FMS
Knob to highlight the next field and
then enter the temperature (-59˚C to 59˚C).
6) To remove the window, press the CLR Key or the TMR/REF Softkey.
