•
Place the hedge trimmer cutting unit (15) precisely as shown in (Fig. 40) on the con-
necting rod (13a).Locking hole (Fig. 40/M) and locking pin (Fig. 40/N) must be on top
of each other. Tighten the locking pin (Fig. 40/N)
•
Adjust the slope by unlocking the lock (Fig. 41/L). Push the locking lever (Fig. 41/L)
and adjust the cutting unit into the right position.
•
The hedge trimmer can be tilted from 0 ° to 90 ° (Fig. 42).
7. Fitting the chain saw bar and the chain (Fig. 43-45)

Remove the chain wheel cover (Fig. 45/ Item J) by undoing the fastening nut
(Item I). Lay the chain (11) as shown into the groove which runs around the chain
saw bar (10).
•
Note the alignment of the chain teeth (Fig. 44). Insert the chain saw bar as shown
in (Fig. 44) into the mount at the gear unit.

Place the chain round the chain wheel (Item H). Make sure that the teeth of the
chain engage securely in the chain wheel. The chain saw bar must be hooked into
the chain tensioning bolt (Item G).
•
Fit the chain wheel cover
m
IMPORTANT!
Do not fully tighten the fastening screw until after you have adjust-

7.1 Tensioning the chain (Fig. 45-48)
m
IMPORTANT!
Always pull out the spark boot plug (Fig. 30 + 31) before perform-
ing any checks or adjustments.
•
Undo the fastening screw (Item I) of the chain wheel cover by a few turns
(Fig. 45).
•
Adjust the chain tension with the chain tensioning screw (Fig. 47/ Item K). Turning
the screw clockwise increases the chain tension, turning it anti-clockwise de-
creases the chain tension. The chain is correctly tensioned if it can be raised by
around 2 mm in the middle of the chain saw bar (Fig. 46).
•
Tighten the fixing screw of the chain wheel cover (Fig. 48).
m
IMPORTANT!
All the chain links must lie properly in the guide groove of the
chain saw bar.
