VARIOUS WARNINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Mooring
There are 8 mooring cleats.
Do not moor the boat on the toe rail or on the U-bolts.
Towing
The cleats have a maximum load of 5200kg. The breaking strength of the lines/chain
generally should not exceed 80 % of the breaking strength of the mooring points.
The anchoring points designed for mooring and/towing are the two forward cleats.
Always tow or be towed slowly. Never break the speed limit whilst towing
A tow line should always be used in a way so that it can be dropped if necessary.
It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that mooring lines, tow ropes, chains as
well as anchors are adequate for use with the boat, that is to say that the lines or
chains do not exceed 80% of the corresponding breaking strength.
It is also necessary to take this into account when attaching a tow line on board.
If non-metallic anchoring points are installed on the boat, take into account their life
span. They should be replaced upon signs of deterioration, visible cracks or permanent
damage. NOTE : dark items are more sensitive to UV than light coloured items.
Centreboard manœuvres
Never let the centreboard drop violently from a high to a low position. The centreboard
raising line must be put onto the winch to serve as a brake.
Do not lift the centreboard when you are sailing close-hauled (too much lateral
pressure). Do it when the point of sail is broad reach.
If your boat is equipped with an electric winch (optional) do not use the electric winch
to raise the centreboard. Use a winch handle manually in case of blockage in the line.
In the event that you are sailing in waters where the depth is uncertain, remember to
position centreboard lowering line clutch in an open position. This enables the
centreboard to go back up into the centreboard casing without hindrance in the event
that it touches the bottom.
With port manœuvres, think about manœuvring with the centreboard lowered to reduce
the gyration radius and limit the drifting.
The centerboard has a high aspect ratio to optimize the close hauled performances.
When reaching, you must lift a little bit the centreboard to avoid spurious vibrations
that can occur when the boat is running at high speed.
Anchoring
The strength points required for anchoring are the davit (front and rear), the windlass
and the cleats.
Once the boat on its anchor, do not leave the chain or rope in tension on the windlass,
but apply the tension on the cleat of the chain locker or on the mooring cleats.
Beaching
Beaching the yacht may only be envisaged when the weather conditions are known
precisely and the forecasts are mild for the next tides
Do not beach with a wind or a forecast of wind greater than or equal to 3B
Do not beach in the event or forecast of choppy water, even if it is light
Do not beach in areas subject to considerable currents
