FLOODING
To prevent the risk of flooding the vessel:
Check the portholes and deck hatches are properly closed, along with the dorade
ventilation boxes or any other opening that could enable flooding, prior to each sail.
During navigation under sail, close all the sea cocks with the exception of the engine
intake.
Periodically check:
o
The water tightness of the seacocks and pipes.
o
The smooth draining of cockpit
WARNING
The cockpit locker lids must be closed and locked prior to sailing. This is particularly
important for lockers presenting a serious risk of flooding.
The ventilator on the sail locker hatch must be closed prior to sailing to prevent water
getting into the sail locker in high seas.

PROTECTION AGAINST FIRE
9.1.
Installation
Extinguishers are subject to national regulations, which is why your boat is delivered without.
We leave it to you to fit your boat with extinguishers, in conformity with the ISO 9094-1
standard, to the conditions set out below:
a)
Minimal capacity per extinguisher: 5A/34B,
b)
Combined minimal capacity of the extinguishers: 10A/68B,
c)
1 extinguisher less than:
1 m from the cockpit for a boat<10 m or 2 m from the cockpit for a boat>10m
2 m from the access point to drown the engine,
d)
1 extinguisher less than 2 m from the stove,
e)
1 extinguisher less than 5 m from the bunks.
f)
Carbon dioxide extinguishers can only be placed in living quarters where there are
inflammable liquids present (e.g. galley) or areas containing live electrical equipment.
There must only be a single CO2 extinguisher per risk zone and its maximum capacity
must not be greater than 2 kg.
Only compatible replacement parts should be used for fire prevention systems. They must
comprise the same instructions and be technically equivalent.
Refer to plan in annex for the recommended number and place of extinguishers
