Explosive, toxic and hot gases and molten sulfur may be released once the
stream jacketed ball valve is opened. All company and/or regulatory
agency safety procedures and rules should be adhered to. Breathing
apparatus and personal protective equipment (
ie.
gloves, coveralls and
protective eye wear) should be worn and a safety person(s) should be
observing.
Do not take unnecessary risks even if you believe the tailgas
line to be at negative pressure.
b) Open the steam jacketed ball valve and continue inserting the probe until the probe
flange contacts the packing gland.
c) Tighten the packing gland and connect the tubing to the probe.
If the connections are leak-tight and company safety personnel have
deemed the atmosphere to be safe, breathing apparatus may now be
removed.
2.4.4 Connection of the Interconnecting Cables
All interconnecting electrical cables must comply with local standards.
Heater Power: Refer to drawing 9-5 in Section 9 of this manual for heater power connection
detail.
Solenoid Control: Refer to drawing 9-5 in Section 9 of this manual for the solnoid valve control
connection detail.
Intrinsically Safe Wiring (RTD’s and Pressure Transducer): Refer to drawing 9-5 in Section 9 of
this manual for the RTD’s and pressure transducer connection detail.
2.4.5 Installing the Fiber Optics Cables
There are 2 fiber optics cables supplies with the analyzer: one is labelled “Source Fiber” and the
other is labelled “Spectrometer Fiber”.
Each fiber optic cable has a potted fixture near one end as shown in figure 2-3. The potted fixture
passes through a cable gland in the control cabinet as shown in Figure 2-4.
