5. Driving Directions
Conditions for Operation Failure of Start/Stop
system
The following conditions will disable the
start/stop system:
–
The water temperature of the engine does not
reach the lowest temperature under the basic
service conditions of the start-stop system.
–
Brake booster vacuum is insufficient.
–
The internal temperature set by the A/C is not
reached.
–
The external temperature is too high or too
low.
–
The defrosting function of the front windshield
is enabled.
–
Battery voltage too low.
–
Altitude is too high.
–
The steering wheel suffers a substantial
deflection.
–
The shift lever is put at “R” gear.
–
The slope is too steep.
–
The start/stop system is turned off.
Automatic Restart of Engine
When the start/stop system shuts down the
engine automatically, the following operations will
interrupt the normal operation of the start/stop
system and result in automatic start of the engine
without any operation of the driver:
–
The vehicle is sliding on a slope.
–
Internal temperature deviates from the value
set by the A/C.
–
Front windshields are in the deforesting state.
–
Brake booster vacuum is insufficient.
–
Battery voltage too low.
Automatic Start Failure Description
When the start/stop system automatically
shuts down the engine and the following operations
cause the automatic start to fail, the instrument
cluster will display “the start/stop system is turned
off. Please start the engine manually” and the
driver has to start the engine manually:
–
The start/stop system fails.
–
The engine fails to automatically start more
than three times.
–
The engine hood or any door is open.
–
The driver unfastens the seat belt.
Hint
•
When the engine hood or any door is open,
the automatic start will not be triggered even
after the engine hood or the door is close.
•
When the driver unfastens the seat belt, the
automatic start will not be triggered even after
the driver fastens the seat belt.
