5. Driving Directions
Working Process of the Start/ Stop System of
AT Model
– When basic conditions for the start/stop
system to work are met, park the vehicle till it
is still and press and hold the brake pedal.
Then the start/stop system will shut down the
engine automatically and the indicator light
on the instrument cluster will go on.
– As the engine is off and the Ignition switch is
on, release the brake pedal. Then the engine
will automatically start and the indicator light
(white) on the instrument cluster will be off
and is on.
Hint
If the diver takes no action for a certain period
after the engine is started, the start/stop system will
shut down the engine again.
Under the condition that the start/stop system
shuts down the engine automatically, the following
operations can start the engine as well:
–
Turning the steering wheel to a certain angle.
– Operate the ignition switch.
– Press the button .
– Put the shift lever at the “D” gear and release
the brake pedal.
– Put the shift lever at the “D” gear, press the
brake pedal and put the shift lever at the “S”
gear.
– If the shift lever is in the "N" gear, the start will
not be triggered by releasing the brake pedal
unless you press the brake pedal again.
– Put the shift lever at the “N” gear without
releasing the brake pedal. Then put it at the
“R” or “D” gear.
Hint
• The process shifting to “P” gear from other
gears than “R” gear will go through “R” gear.
Do not stay at the “R” gear. Otherwise, the
engine will be started.
• When “D” gear is shifted from “R” gear, the
start/stop system can shut down the engine
only after the vehicle is driven at 15km/h.
