Chapter 8 Maintenance

Thermal Print Head Replacement



Tighten the screw while verifying the gear contact.

Thermal Print Head Replacement

When replacing the thermal print head, it is necessary to remove the recorder block.After the replacement, make sure
to adjust the thermal recorder.

Tools: Phillips Screwdriver #2, 5.5 mm Nut Driver

Remove the recorder block.



Refer to "General Assembly Diagram" (



"General Assembly Diagram" P5-9).

Remove the thermal print head.



Refer to the following section.
"Recorder Block 1" (



"Recorder Block (1/3)" P5-3)

"Recorder Block 2" (



"Recorder Block (2/3)" P5-4)

"Recorder Block 3" (



"Recorder Block (3/3)" P5-5)

Adjust the thermal recorder.



Refer to "Adjusting the Thermal Recorder" (



"Adjusting the Thermal Recorder" P8-17).

Adjusting the Thermal Recorder

Adjust the contact between the print head and recording paper of the thermal recorder.After replacing the motor and
thermal print head, make sure to adjust the thermal recorder.

Tools: Cross Slot Screwdriver #2, 5.5 mm Nut Driver

Remove the recorder block from the upper case of the main unit.

On the "Maintenance" menu, select "Thermal Printing Test".

Loosen the screws indicated with square marks.
