Display Unit
The block diagram of the display unit is shown below.

Thermal Print Head Control Unit
The block diagram of the thermal print head control unit is shown below.
The thermal printing process is as follows.
The CPU sets the drawing data to the internal RAM of FPGA at the interrupt timing from the FPGA.
The FPGA transfers the drawing data to the thermal print head corresponding to the printing speed.
The CPU reads the thermal print head temperature, and outputs it to the FPGA as strobe data taking the temperature
condition into consideration.
The FPGA monitors overheating, paper end, paper tray up condition, and when these are detected, the printing is
stopped by ceasing the data transmission and thermal print head strobe signal.

Motor Drive Unit
The block diagram of the motor drive unit is shown below.
The motor is controlled as follows.
The CPU sets the printing speed data for the FPGA.
When paper end or tray up is not detected, FPGA outputs the motor pulse to the motor driver based on the set data.
The motor driver drives the stepping motor with the frequency and current value according to the drive pulse.
In addition, the FPGA controls the motor driver power supply, and supplies appropriate voltage according to the
printing speed to the motor driver.
