Port / Peripheral Tablet PC icon Meaning
Infrared port (IrDA/FIR)
An infrared transceiver built into the Tablet
PC allows you to communicate with other
devices that are compliant with the IrDA
Standard Rev. 1.1. Effective range for
infrared communication is about 3 feet, and
within 15 degrees of centre; a clear line-of-
sight path must exist between the infrared
port on the Tablet PC and the infrared
transceiver on the other device.
Modem port
Connect a telephone line to the internal
modem using a standard RJ-11 telephone
plug.
Tablet Dock port
Connect a Tablet Dock or other approved
docking device. Refer to the "Getting
Started" manual accompanying the Tablet
PC for more information.
Infrared receiver for
keyboard
An infrared receiver built into the Tablet PC
allows you to communicate with the Fujitsu
Siemens Computers wireless infrared
keyboard which is available as accessories.
The keyboard infrared port works optimally
between 10 to 30 cm (approximately 4 in. to
12 in.) from the keyboard infrared port,
located on the bottom edge of the Tablet PC.
Ensure that there is a clear line-of-sight path
between the infrared receiver on the Tablet
PC and the infrared transmitter on the
keyboard.
