Always switch the camera off when you are
replacing the batteries. If you open the battery cover
or disconnect the AC power adapter without
switching the camera off, all the camera settings
may revert to the factory default values.

For “FILE SIZE/QUALITY”, “DATE / TIME” and
“RESET ALL”, press the “MENU/OK” button.

Use no compression [HI] or a low compression ratio
[FINE or NORMAL] with the largest possible file
size setting. However, because this increases the
amount of data in each frame, the remaining
number of available frames is reduced.
To produce high-quality prints
These images are intended to be viewed on a
personal computer screen, so you should use a
small file size [640
✕
480]. Because this reduces the
amount of data in each frame, the remaining
number of available frames is increased.
For use on the Internet
Select “HI” or “FINE” for better image quality and
“BASIC” to increase the number of available shots.
In most cases, the “NORMAL” setting provides
more than adequate image quality.
Quality (compression ratio)
When the mode switch is set to “
0
” (excluding

”), holding down “SHIFT” and pressing “
M
”
switches you to the settings screen.
You can select any combination of 3 file size
settings and 4 quality (compression ratio) settings
according to the type of shot you want to take.
