
2.4 Nomenclature and Functions of Ultrasonic Endoscope Distal End
The distal end of the EG-580UT consists of the following parts.
[Note] The transducer of this product is installed downward to the control portion.
Objective Lens
This lens forms an endoscopic image on the CCD.
Instrument Channel Outlet
Forceps, puncture needle or endotherapy device
emerges from this part.
This portion is also used as a suction inlet.
Transducer
This portion transmits and receives ultrasonic
waves.
Balloon Attachment Grooves
This portion is used to attach the balloon ring.
Imaging Section (Inside)
Light Guide
The light from the light source is emitted from
these windows.
Air/Water Nozzle
This nozzle jets air or water onto the objective
lens with the air/water valve operation.
Balloon Water Port
Water is discharged from this portion. Discharges
water from the balloon.
Forceps Stand
Adjusts the protrusion angle of the forceps, puncture
needle, and other treatment equipment.
Ultrasonic Head
Holds the transducer.
