5.27 Basting and long stitch device artista 640
Standard:
•
Checking the needle bar guide.
•
Disengage the needle bar manually.
•
Rotate left and right to check play and if clutch pin engages
easily.
Correction:
•
Remove basting magnet (remove screw (
11
)).
•
Set needle bar to top dead center.
•
Loosen needle bar clamp screw (
10
)
•
Engage needle bar in clutch pin.
•
Center the clutch pin in the needle bar hole.
•
Retighten screw on needle bar guide.
•
Check threader adjustment (
p. 56
)
•
Refit basting magnet and secure with screw (
11
).
Note:
Check needle bar guide to threader position. Adjustment is made by the threader.
Checking the timing of disengagement
Standard:
•
Start machine and select long stitch function.
•
Needle bar should be disengaged – approx. 1-
2mm before reaching the upper dead center.
Correction:
•
Turn buffer adjusting screw (
15
) out by about
one rotation.
•
Loosen securing screw (
11
) from long stitch
magnet housing and move housing up or down
as appropriate.
Adjusting the buffer position:
•
Turn buffer screw (
15
) out until needle bar
cannot engage again.(counter clock wise).
•
Disengage the needle bar manually
•
Set needle position to the right.
•
Run machine at medium speed
(r.p.m.)
•
Turn buffer adjusting screw (
15
)
slowly back in, until needle bar
engages.(clock wise)
•
After the engaging of the needle
bar, turn screw (
15
) by a quarter
rotation. (clock wise).
•
Carry out functionality check to see
if needle bar disengages with
maximum speed and in the left and
right needle positions.
