5.20 Threader
Standard:
•
Remove needle and attach the threader gauge
(030883.50.00) in its place.
•
Set needle to upper dead centre.
•
Push threader downward until threader head turns
in flush under the gauge.
Correction:
•
Loosen
screw
(

) on the guide piece.
•
The threader head can be properly adjusted by
moving it up or down, as appropriate.
•
Retighten guide piece screw (
67
).
Important: Don't turn needle bar.
Check basting device by model 640.

5.21 Feed-dog position in stitch plate
Standard:
The feed-dog must be equidistant from each side of the stitch plate.
Correction:
•
Loosen
screw

).
•
Move feed-dog carrier shaft (

) sideways into the required position.
•
Retighten screws (

).
Check:
•
When the feed dog is lowered, it must drop freely.(Sewing to darning)
•
When switched from darning to sewing and
the hand wheel is turned the feed dog must
jump up
