Assembly:
1. Pin needle drive balance piece and
hook drive crank – artista 630
requires removal of motor in
addition to this.
2. Slide new base shaft in pinning
position and in mesh with the hook
drive crank gear.
Caution!
Edge (
51
) at pinning
position (
50
) must be to the front
(
see picture 2 on page 49
).
Note:
At the same time the feed-dog
is at the lowest position.
3. Secure the bushing supports (

).
4. Tighten
screws
(

) to fasten stitch
length stepping motor.
5. Place drive belt on bevel gear and
tighten belt tensioner (
47
) with
tension spring. Tighten screw (
46
).
6. Refit shaft bearing (

) and adjust to
a 0.1-0.3 mm springing by tightening
screw (

).
7. Remove pinning gauges.
8. Refit feed-dog drop unit and tighten
securing screws (

).
9. Re-hook tension springs (

).
10. Adjust hook (synchronization),

).
11. Refit main motor and tighten belt.
12. Refit ventilator fan.
13. Refit covers.
14. Check position of synchronizing disc (SP test 3n,
p. 79
).
15. Calibrate speed (SP test 4f,
p. 84
).
16. Carry out a functional check. Sew-off.
Note:
The bevel gear is pressed onto the base shaft.
