• Push a sample sheet between the two

separator rollers in the separator sluice
assembly.

• Turn the setting wheel in the

direction

(sets sluice “wider”).

• Then turn the setting wheel in the other (

)

direction until the separator drums start
pulling on the sample sheet. The sample
sheet should gently be tugged.

• Now turn the setting wheel two more

“clicks” in the

direction. This is the correct

separator setting.

• Lower the preliminary separator gate.

If the separator gate is set correctly, the two
red markings should be visible during
automatic operation.

7.1.4 Load paper

• A stack of paper (about 20 to 30 mm tall)

should be neatly fanned with the leading
side forming a wedge. The wedge should
be even and the sides of the stack should
be straight.
The height of the stack depends on the
paper being processed. A rule of thumb:
Thin paper

= a shorter stack

Thicker paper = a larger stack.

• Always be sure the paper in the stack is

oriented correctly for insertion.

Caution!

The stack’s wedge shape must be

even and clean. Aviod sheets higher up in the
stack being sloppily stacked. The result will be
paper handling errors and system crashes.
