holes free to prevent corrosion.
• Keep the louvres of the shutter and the protection meshes clean
to prevent accumulation of dirt, which reduces the cross-section
of air throughput and thus degrades performance.
• Keep the louvre control mechanisms clean.
Clean the louvre opening devices thoroughly.
• When using a high-pressure cleaner, never direct the jet of water
or steam directly onto the motor, central pulley or onto the opening
mechanisms.
• To facilitate cleaning of the extractor with cone diffuser, remove
the shutter so as to gain access to the internal parts of the fan.
7.3 MACHINE LUBRICATION
The ball bearings in the motor are lubricated for life and do not
require any particular maintenance.
The plastic parts (linkages) that move the louvres of the shutter must
not be lubricated or greased to prevent deleterious accumulation of
dust or deposits.
7.4 SCREW TORQUES
Check screw and nut torques periodically, using the following
values:
• M6 screws: 10 Nm
• M8 screws: 25 Nm
• M10 screws: 40 Nm
• hub securing screw: 25 Nm
CAUTION
Incorrect tightening torques may damage the equipment!
7.5 TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING
Repairs to the fan may only be carried out by trained personnel
in accordance with the safety standards and instructions in this
manual.
Before carrying out any repairs, isolate the power supply by opening
the main switch.
Improper functioning may be due to the following causes:
• main switch open;
• incorrect adjustment or automatic control fault;
• defective fuses;
• dirt in propeller and/or in the inner ring of the conveyor;
• open circuit in the junction box or power outlet.
If intervention of company technical personnel is required, contact
the sales representative or local distributor.
CAUTION
If repairs are required, exclusive use of original spare parts is
advised.
Original spare parts are guaranteed by the manufacturer for 12
months.
WARNING
During maintenance or inspection of the machine, there is a risk that
clothing, limbs, hair or other parts of the body may be entangled and
possibly cut by the fan. Wear PPE throughout these phases and, in
particular, safety clothing and gloves, tie back long hair and do not
wear rings, bracelets or necklaces.
CAUTION
Use only original spare parts from the supplier to guarantee a high
level of safety. If non-original spare parts are used, full functionality
or compliance with EC directives regarding electrical safety and
electromagnetic compatibility cannot be guaranteed.
WARNING
When working on the machine, all personnel must be aware of the
work in progress.
When carrying out maintenance, place a warning sign on the power
supply switch to prevent accidental operation by a another operator.
Periodically perform the following operations.
• Ensure that the air intake and outlet openings are clean and free
from objects.
• Ensure that the fan is always dry. If it is wet, dry it immediately,
identify the cause and remedy to avoid corrosion.
• Check cable connections and connectors. In the event of any loose
connections, damaged cables or other faults, immediately stop
the extractor and contact the support or specialist technicians.
• Check for loose or rusty nuts and bolts caused by environmental
conditions. If necessary, tighten or replace.
• Check for any deposits inside the equipment. If present, remove
deposits using a jet of compressed air.
The following table specifies the routine periodic checks to be
performed by the user to keep the machine in good working order.

7.2 MACHINE CLEANING
WARNING
Never clean while the fan is in operation.
External cleaning of the machine, of the protection meshes, and of
the louvres of the closing shutter requires preventive disconnection
of the fan from the power supply.
Disassembly of the machine to carry out cleaning operations is not
required.
Observe the following instructions, which must be carried out
periodically, to ensure thorough cleaning and, therefore, smooth
operation.
• Clean the motor housing regularly with a brush or compressed air
(do not spray water or steam).
Regular cleaning of the motor is particularly important when the
fan operates in particularly dusty or dirty environments, as the
motor must be able to dissipate the heat generated.
• The bottom of the support structure includes holes to drain any
water that may have collected; keep the bottom clean and the
