12-3 Placing Sequences in the XWave
The XWave expects to find FOXCAST sequence files inside of the “Sounds” folder in the XWave.
If you are loading the sequence files manually, the first step is to connect the XWave to your
computer. Browse to the XWave
and open it up. Locate the “Sounds” folder. Copy your
sequence files from wherever they are stored on your hard drive, into this folder (drag and
drop). If you are using the online FOXCAST file generator, you can save the file directly from the
website right into the “Sounds” folder in the XWave.
12-4 Creating FOXCAST Sequences Online
A second, simpler option for creating sequences can be found on the FOXPRO website. The
following address will direct you to the FOXPRO Online FOXCAST Sequence File Generator:

This easy to use site allows you to quickly assemble and download FOXCAST sequence files to
your computer or directly to your FOXPRO game call. The site has plenty of instructions to help
get you started. Just remember to s
ave the sequence files into the “Sounds” folder in the
XWave.
12-5 Synchronizing the XWave Remote
Before you can access your FOXCAST sequence files on the XWave remote, you must download
a new copy of the sound list. To perform this, please see Section 11 in th
e section “Updating the
XWave Remote Sound List”.
13. Firmware Updates
The XWave digital game call and XWave remote both feature the ability to have firmware
updates installed from home. It is crucial to determine which version of game call and remote
you have prior to performing any of the update procedures.
13-1 XWave Digital Game Call
The XWave digital game call features a mini USB port. Make sure you have the appropriate mini
USB type A/B cable for connecting the XWave to a PC. This same cable can be used to connect
the XWave remote to your PC as well.
XWave digital game call versions 1.5 and higher do not require specific software to perform the
update. Therefore, the update can be performed on virtually any modern computer with the
appropriate USB port and an online connection.
