Introduction
Remote commands can be used to control the Analyzer. Remote operations
can be accessed through the RS232 serial port, using a controller, such as the
medTester 5000C or a personal computer. The remote mode of operation
provides Analyzer command/control and data capture/transfer functions.
Primary commands are valid when the instrument is in the MAIN MENU or in
the REMOTE MAIN mode.
At power up, global variables are set to the default. The global variable setup
commands are valid in the MAIN MENU and also in the modes where they are
listed. If power is interrupted and restores, the Analyzer powers up in the
manual mode.
Entering Remote Mode
When a valid REMOTE command is received from the MAIN MENU, the
instrument enters the REMOTE MAIN mode. This remote mode cannot be
entered directly from the sleep mode. The local (manual) user interface is
inactive and unavailable during remote operation.
When entering a transcutaneous or transvenous pacemaker mode, the variables
for that mode are set to the default. The default setting is the one listed first,
unless otherwise stated. Other measurement commands are valid only in the
specific mode they are listed in.
Working in Remote Mode
See “Transcutaneous Pacemaker Remote Setup and Testing” and
“Transvenous Pacemaker Remote Setup and Testing”, below, for pacemaker-
specific commands associated with remote operation.
To exit any remote mode test, sent the EXITTEST command, returning to the
REMOTE MAIN MODE.
Exiting Remote Mode
To exit the remote mode, send the LOCAL command; returning the instrument
to the MAIN MENU and local control.
