In order to use HTTPS on the camera, an HTTPS certificate must be installed. The HTTPS certificate
can be obtained either by creating and sending a certificate request to a Certificate Authority (CA) or by
creating a self-signed HTTPS certificate as described below.
Note:
The self-signed certificate does not provide the same level of security as a CA-issued certificate.
To configure SSL settings
From the
Method
drop-down list, select one of the following:
Self-Signed, Request,
or
Upload
Certificate.
The default is
NONE.
To obtain a self-signed certificate
From the
Method
drop-down list, select
Self-Signed.
The
Self-Signed
screen is displayed.
Enter the following information in the appropriate field. A definition of each of the required fields
follows.
Country Code
Enter a two-letter combination code to indicate the specific country in
which
Province Name
Enter the local administrative region.
City Name
Enter other geographical information.
Common Name
Indicate the name of the person or other entity that the certificate
identifies (often used to identify the website).
Organization Name
Enter the name of the organization to which the entity identified in
Common Name
belongs.
Organization Unit Name
Enter the name of the organizational unit to which the entity
identified in the
Common Name
field belongs.
Email Address
Enter the email address of the person responsible for maintaining the
certificate.
