6.3.1.4.4 SNMP
The
SNMP
screen enables the network management system to use the Simple Network Management
Protocol (SNMP) to remotely monitor and manage the camera. Select one of the following SNMP
versions: SNMP v1, SNMP v2c, or SNMP v3.
To use SNMP v1
From the
SNMP v1
section
Enable
drop-down list, select
ON
. The default is
OFF
.
Click
Save
.
To use SNMP v2c
From the
SNMP v2c
section
Enable
drop-down list, select
ON
. The default is
OFF
.
In the
Read Community
String
text box, enter the community name that has read-only access to
all supported SNMP objects. The default value is
public.
In the
Write Community String
text box, enter the community name that has read/write access to
all supported SNMP objects (except read-only objects). The default value is
private.
In the
Trap Community String
text box, enter the community to use when sending a trap
message to the management system. The default value is
public
. Traps are used by the camera
to send messages to the management system for important events or status changes.
Click
Save
.
To use SNMP v3
From the
SNMP v3
section
Enable
drop-down list, select

. The default is

.
From the
Authentication Mode
drop-down list, select
MD5, SHA,
or
NONE
(default).
If you select
MD5
or
SHA
, from the
Privacy Mode
drop-down list, select
AES, DES,

Enter the User Name. The default is
initial
.
If you select
MD5
or
SHA
, enter the Authentication Password in the
Authentication Password
text box.
The
Privacy Password
text box is disabled.
Click
Save
