8.3 Routine maintenance
To preserve long term proper operation of the inverter, you are advised to perform the routine maintenance operations listed in this
paragraph.
ATTENTION –
A
Maintenance operations shall be performed only by qualified personnel or Fimer personnel (under a servicing
contract). The maintenance schedule may vary depending on the environmental conditions of the installation.
Routine maintenance
Annual visual inspections
• Check that the inverter is operating properly, without any alarm signals.
• Ensure all labels and safety symbols are visible.
• Check the integrity of the cables, connectors and cable glands outside the inverter.
• Check that the environmental conditions have not changed dramatically from those on installation.
• Check there are no obstacles (animals, insects, leaves or anything which could reduce the heat
exchanging capacity of the heat sink) at the top, at the bottom and on the external arrays of cooling
fan.
Annual operations
• Check the tightening of the cable glands and the screw terminal blocks.
• Check the front covers is secured.
• If there is no monitoring system, check the record of alarms and errors using the indications
provided in the manual in order to check recent notification of recent malfunctions.
• For the models with AC disconnect switch, it is recommended that once a year the disconnect
switch is operated a number of times (at least 10) to keep the contacts clean and prevent oxidation.
This operation must be carried out in periods with low input power or at night.
Annual cleaning
• Clean the equipment; in particular, clean the side and top arrays of the cooling fan assembly and
the heat sink.
