FIPIO standard profile for Festo valve
terminals

Festo valve terminals belong to the STD_P
device family. This device family includes FIPIO
standard profiles (basic devices), allowing the
connection of foreign field bus slaves to the
FIPIO bus through a clearly defined device
reference.

PLEASE NOTE
Configure a Festo valve terminal with FB16
as follows:

•

as STD_P device family

•

as basic device (standard profile) FSD_C8

Here:

•

FSD = FSD_P Standard profil

•

C8 = Compact device (field bus slave) with
8 Input words and
8 Output words
Note: 1 word corresponds to 16 bits.

The software guides the user through the
configuration of a device on the FIPIO bus.
These screen sequences and the specific proce-
dures for configuring a valve terminal are
described in detail in the following Chapter.
