Pre-operational System Configuration and Testing

c. Set for same level as the standard siren sounds.
d. Ensure that the sound is not distorted.
Control and Status Monitoring
To test the control and status monitoring features:
1. Use the Commander Software System to verify the UVIC has been properly
configured for the application. Make any required changes.
2. Test the control and status monitoring features from each control point. Test each
control function and all status indications using Commander. Verify each status point
provides the proper indication of both pass and fail conditions.
Testing the Optional UVLOC
To test the UVLOC:
1. After all connections have been made and power is applied to the UVIC, verify the
green power LED on the control panel is on.
2. Turn the rotary selection switch fully counter clockwise to the LIVE P.A. position.
3. Press the ARM button for 1 second and verify the red ARM LED turns on.
4. Press and hold the ACTIVATE button while speaking into within 12 inches of the
microphone. Verify the P.A. audio is clear and at the desired output level.
5. Use a small straight blade screwdriver to adjust the microphone sensitivity.
6. Set the nominal level to approximately 0 dBm out of the control panel.
7. Adjust the speaker level at the UVIC control board by adjusting R123. Set R123 to
provide 10 V
p-p
at TP1 on the control board when the UVLOC is putting out 0 dBm.
8. After the levels have been properly adjusted, verify all other functions operate
properly from the UVLOC control panel.
9. Label the UVLOC to ensure the operators know what messages and functions are
available. Verify the UVLOC is labeled properly for the application.
