The control loops “left” and “right”:
Presently, the MLS 508 offers three separate control loops for valve actuation.
Depending on the individual application, the control loops can be operated with
different sensors and be enabled or disabled independently.
The control loops “left” and “right” are used to control the grade and slope of a tool
(e.g. a milling drum).
The operator elements of the control loops in detail:

M
The A/M key is used to switch
between the selected control
loop’s 2 operating modes –
manual mode and automatic
mode.
The UP/DOWN keys are used to
change the target value of the
respective control loop. In the
configuration menu, they are
used to select menu points or to
set parameters.
The automatic lights indicate
which operating mode has been
chosen for a specific control loop
with the help of the A/M key (also
refer to “7.2 Definition of terms“).
Light off = manual mode
Light on = automatic mode
The sensor change key directly
accesses the menu in which the
sensor type for the specific
control loop can be selected
(also see “6.6 Sensor
selection”). In automatic mode
via this key the sensor can be
directly changed.
The valve lights indicate the
direction in which the hydraulic
cylinders of a specific control loop
have to be moved to reach the
preset target value (also refer to
“7.2 Definition of terms”).
