7 Working with the MLS 508
The valve lights indicate the status of the actuated valve output.
Meaning of the valve lights’ indications:
Both LOWER arrows on = High control deviation – LOWER output active
Inner LOWER arrow on = Low control deviation – LOWER output active
Green bar is lit = No control deviation – No valve actuation
Inner RAISE arrow on = Low control deviation – RAISE output active
Both RAISE arrows on = High control deviation – RAISE output active
The automatic lights indicate the status of the corresponding control loop.
Automatic light off = Manual mode
Control outputs are inactive
Automatic light flashes = Semi-automatic mode*
Control outputs are inactive
Automatic light on = Automatic mode
Control outputs are active

The semi-automatic mode is not really an operating mode of the MLS 508.
The system is in semi-automatic mode when the automatic mode is selected
and the control outputs are disabled via external switches (emergency stop
switch, valve lock in the driver’s cabin, etc.).
The control outputs are immediately disabled in semi-automatic mode.
