Remove the replacement Robot Arm from the packaging and carefully unspool the harness. The
Robot Arm Mounting Shaft is pointed on one side and has a horizontal “notch” on the other. The pointed
side of the mounting shaft should face the rear cabinet wall as the shaft is installed back into the mount.
As you slide the shaft up into the mount, you should hear an audible “click” as the “notch” slides past the
clamp on the bracket. Support the Robot Arm until the (4) retaining screws are tight.

Reinstall the ribbon cables and connect the twelve pin connector and secure the robot arm cover.

Plug the (2) connectors back into the VMC Board. It is critical to ensure that the orientation of
these connectors is properly placed since the wire position is essential. Take care not to bend any pins as
you seat the connectors. Replace the cable ties so that the Robot Arm Harness is positioned next to the
Lid Lift Harness as it was before. The Robot Arm Harness must be positioned clear of the inner door and
outer door as the doors are opened and closed. Take care that the harnesses are not pinched by either
door.

Review your work. Make sure that the Robot Arm fasteners are tight. Check all connections.
Confirm that the Robot Arm moves freely without binding. Confirm that all wires and harnesses are
positioned correctly and no wires are being pinched.

Turn on the machine using the Power Switch on the left side of the Power Supply below the
Delivery Bin. Position the Display Board so that it may be viewed from the back of the door. Press the
“VAC” button to unlock the keypad.

Selection. Press and hold the Reset button. The Display will first read, “THIS FORCES RE

SETUP” and then,
“Arm Uncalibrated”. Release the Reset button.
If you continue to hold the Reset button you will erase
all product selections and their freezer locations.
Press the pound (#) key to continue. (See Fig. 9A and 9B) The Display will instruct you to “Put Arm at Left
Wall”. Fold the robot arm into an L shape so that the arm is against the back cabinet wall and the left
side cabinet wall. Press the pound (#) key to accept. The Display will instruct you to “Set Arm at
Delivery”. Move the arm so it is straight out from the back wall with the picker tip in the front center
position. Press the pound (#) key to accept.
At this point the calibration and installation process is complete. Your selections should still be
programmed correctly. We recommend that you try a few test vends to verify the operation and price
settings.
