MAIN FEATURES
Farfisa digital DUO System, developed with innovative technology,
allows the installation of videointercom systems up to 200 users and 20
door stations, drawing two non-polarized wires only, including the
power supply to the system. The very reduced number of conductors
with no coaxial cable allows a fast and simple videointercom and/or
intercom installation, reducing mounting costs.
The 2-wire technology allows a videointercom system, with 1 or more
entrances, without having to think to the calculation of the conductors on
the riser and on the various branches; the wires are always two.
For a good result of the installation it is necessary to follow carefully the
indications in this manual and especially it is requested not to exceed
the distances recommended by ACI Farfisa.
Type of installation
The DUO digital system allows the realisation of many different types of
installation.
• Intercom systems
• Video intercom system
• Mixed intercom/video intercom systems
• Systems with doorkeeper exchanger
• Systems with 1 or more equally important door stations
• Systems with 1 or more main door stations and secondary door
stations (with exchanger or distributor of inputs)
Performances of DUO system
• Maximum distance between external station and farthest
videointercom (without amplifier) 150 meters
• Digital or conventional push-button panels with digital encoder
• Floor call or intercom call differentiated from that of the external door
station
• Timed conversation (90-second duration with possibility of increas-
ing conversation time by pressing a specific button on the push-
button panel)
• Acoustic signal of conversation end
• Private audio-video and lock function (only the called user can see,
talk and release lock)
• Coded lock release directly from the digital push-button panel (by
means of programmable personal code)
• Busy signal on door stations
• Free tone on internal stations when the installation is available for
intercommunicating calls or video auto switching
• Connection up to 6 internal stations in parallel and intercommunicat-
ing for each user
• The maximum number of risers, of video intercoms for each line, of
main external door stations and of secondary external door stations
depends on the schematic to be implemented (see chapter 5).
Systems with doorkeeper exchanger
(in addition to the functions above)
• Day-Night operating mode: - in night mode calls are directly trans-
ferred to the users - in day mode all calls can be received from the
doorkeeper exchanger or by users depending on the door station
programming.
• visualisation of the calls on a 64x128 pixel graphic LCD
• possibility of memorising and booking calls at the doorkeeper
exchanger during conversations in progress – they will be automati-
cally made when the line is free.
• communication between 2 internal stations.
• possibility of connecting an internal station with a door station.
• possibility of using a wide range of Farfisa intercoms or video
intercoms.
• possibility of connecting a monitor at the exchanger with automatic
switching ON.
• call transfer – all calls to the doorkeeper exchanger can be trans-
ferred to a programmed internal station.
Choosing the equipment
When choosing the articles for the installation, the following aspects
must be considered:
• the user’s needs
• the number of users
• the installation possibilities
• the possible dislocation of the articles.
External door stations (PE)
The following options are available for door stations:
• door stations with digital keyboard and selection of display names
• door stations with conventional push-button panels and digital en-
coder

For the internal stations in addition to the preferred aesthetic model,
the choice must be based on the required performance:
• intercom or videointercom
• communication with the handset or in hands-free
• quantity of buttons for intercommunicating calls, enabling actuators,
monitoring video door stations and additional cameras, calls to
doorkeeper exchangers, etc ...
• colour screen, OSD or touch-screen
