Part 1
1 pound Blackeye Peas
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
7 cups Water
1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
4 teaspoons Vegetable Oil
1 teaspoon Ground Thyme
First, sort the blackeye peas: remove and discard any foreign material or
shriveled/discolored blackeye peas . Then rinse with cold water . Next, place the sorted
and rinsed blackeye peas in the inner cooking pot of the EZ Bean Cooker; add the water,
vegetable oil, and additional seasonings . Select the Manual Cook button and use the
Adjust Time buttons to add 10 minutes, then push Start .
Part 2
1 cup Long Grain White Rice
2 cups Water
Once the cook cycles are complete carefully release the pressure and open the lid . Add
the white rice and additional water .
Close the lid and lock into place . Turn the pressure release valve to the Closed Vent
position . Select the Manual Cook button, then use the Adjust Time buttons to add
10 minutes, then push Start .
Part 3
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 cup chopped Onions
1 cup diced Ham, precooked
While waiting for the second cook cycle to complete, sauté one cup of chopped onions
in a pan with olive oil . At the end of the cook cycles, carefully release the pressure and
open the lid . Add the diced ham and sautéed onions; stir all ingredients to combine . If
desired, add salt to taste . Serve and enjoy .
