Operation
Traction-Control Pedal
Located to the right of the steering wheel column
base.
Pressing the top of the traction-control pedal moves
the unit forward. Pressing the bottom of the pedal
moves the machine rearward. Releasing pressure off
of the pedal slows the machine.
Note:
The farther the pedal is pressed in either
direction, the faster the machine will move in that
direction.
Removing your foot and releasing all pressure from
the pedal places the traction-control pedal in neutral.
SmartPark™ Switch
Located on the lower right control panel.
The parking brake is activated electronically.
Engage the parking brake by one of the following
actions:
•
Pressing the SmartPark
™
switch to the “ON”
position (see Figure 4).
•
The parking brake engages automatically when the
operator leaves the seat and the traction-control
pedal is in neutral position.
•
The parking brake automatically engages 5 to 6
seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the
“OFF” position (if not already engaged).
Note:
The light on the SmartPark
™
switch will
illuminate when the parking brake is engaged.
Disengage the parking brake by one of the following
actions:
•
Press the SmartPark
™
switch to the “OFF”
position with the key in the run position.
•
Tap the traction-control pedal forward or reverse.
Make sure the parking brake engages when you stop
the machine or leave it unattended. The unit must be
tied down and brake engaged when transporting.
Deck Height Adjustment Lever
Located on right side in front of the SmartPark™
switch (see Figure 4).
Pull the lever inward and rearward to raise the cutting
deck. Allow the handle to move forward to lower the
cutting deck. Move the deck height adjustment lever
outward at the desired height-of-cut. Only adjust the
height of cut while the machine is not moving.
KeyChoice
®
Switch
This switch allows you to mow in reverse when it is
activated. To activate it, turn the switch to “ON” and
release it after the power take-off (PTO) is engaged.
To deactivate it, disengage the PTO.

Operating–in–Reverse Warning Light
Located next to the KeyChoice
®
switch
The Operating–in–Reverse warning light will
illuminate whenever the KeyChoice
®
switch is used
to deactivate the operating–in–reverse interlock. It is
a reminder that the interlock system is deactivated.
The light goes out whenever the PTO is disengaged
or the engine is shut off. When the light is on, look
behind and use extra caution when backing.
Fuel Window
Located on the left side of the machine.
The fuel window can be used to determine the
amount of fuel in the tank.
Hour Meter
The hour meter records the number of hours when
the operator is in the seat and the ignition switch is in
the “ON” position (Figure 6).
