• Never set up or use the grill under or close to a flammable roof.
•  Note the wind direction when using the grill. Position the grill so that the highest

edge of the bowl faces the wind to minimise the effects of the wind.

Connection of gas bottle
The FireGlobe gas grill can be connected to a gas bottle with a capacity of max. 11 kg.

Rules and standards governing gas appliances differ from country to country. The grill
comes with a gas regulator which is compliant with the standards applicable in the
country in which you have bought your grill. If you have bought your grill abroad, you
must ensure that it is suitable for use in the country in which you intend to use it.

The regulator comes with instructions which must be followed when fitting it. The
instructions also describe how to open and close the gas supply. The regulator must
be closed during assembly – depending on the type it must either be in the “off”
position or turned all the way down (by turning clockwise).

Once the gas regulator has been fitted to the hose, the hose must be connected to the
connector on the grill (10). The hose is fitted with a connector fitting (11), which must
be screwed onto the gas connection point and tightened with an adjustable spanner.
Before using the grill, check that the gas hose does not have any cracks, holes or
scratches. The grill must not under any circumstances be used if the hose is damaged.
Please contact your nearest dealer to order a new gas hose in the case of damage.

Warnings concerning connection of gas bottle:
•  Do not connect near open fire or other sources of ignition. Ignition of escaping gas

can result in serious personal injury or damage to property.

Leakage testing
After you have connected one end of the hose to the connector on the grill and the
other end to the regulator, fit the regulator onto the gas bottle (12). Make sure that the
three control knobs are in a vertical position (A), and that the gas regulator is closed.

Even though you have carefully followed the instructions, the joints must be tested
for leaks. If, at a later stage, you detach the hose either from the gas connection
point or from the regulator, you must repeat the following test:

1.  Mix water and a bit of washing-up liquid in a bowl.
2. Open the gas bottle regulator.
3.  Use a cloth to moisten the joints with soapy water. If bubbles form around a joint,

it is a sign that it is leaking and it must be tightened further. Repeat the test.

4. Wipe any soapy residue from the joints using a damp cloth.

Warnings concerning leakage testing:
•  Do not carry out the test near open fire or other sources of ignition. Ignition of

escaping gas can result in serious personal injury or damage to property.

Handling and storing gas bottles
Gas bottles contain gas under pressure. When gas is stored under pressure, it
becomes liquid. If you are unsure whether a gas bottle is empty, you can detach
it and gently shake it. If you cannot feel the liquid gas sploshing around inside the
bottle, it is probably empty.

When the gas bottle becomes warm, the pressure in the bottle increases. Gas bottles
are made to withstand such increases in pressure under normal conditions. However,
if a gas bottle is exposed to very high temperatures, there is a risk of leakage. Such
high temperatures may occur, for example, if the bottle is stored in a car in strong
sunlight or if it is placed near a very strong heat source.

If the gas bottle feels too hot to touch, you must take immediate steps to prevent
further heating and leave it to cool down before handling.
Full and empty gas bottles must be handled with extreme care. They do not tolerate
being dropped or treated carelessly. Even though the gas bottle may feel empty,
there is always a certain residual pressure.

Warnings concerning the handling of gas bottles:
•  Always ensure that the regulator is closed when connecting or disconnecting a gas

bottle.

•  Store full and empty gas bottles outdoors in a well-ventilated place and so that they

are protected from direct sunlight.

• Do not place gas bottles that are not being used near a lit grill.

Varying gas pressure
When the grill is on full and the gas is being burnt quickly, the temperature of the
gas will fall, and thereby the gas pressure. This, however, means that you may find
that a gas bottle which still sploshes when shaken does not deliver the expected gas
pressure. If so, all you can do is replace the bottle with a completely full one.

Lighting
The FireGlobe gas grill has three burners which can be regulated individually. The
innermost round burner (14) is regulated by means of the central knob. The back
(13) and front (15) burners are controlled by turning the knob furthest to the left and
furthest to the right, respectively. Remove the lid from the grill when it is being lit.

Check that the gas bottle valve is open (ON position or the regulator is turned as far
as it can be anti-clockwise).

1.   The back (13) and middle (14) burners can be ignited independently of each other,

so select which burner you want to light first. Turn the adjustable burner control
knob for the respective burner anticlockwise to position B. Then press the spark
lighter (7) – several times if necessary – to light the gas. Each time you push the
spark lighter, you will hear a click and the ignition system produces a spark to
ignite the gas.

2.  The back burner (13) can only be ignited when the front burner (15) is alight.
